Your coding agents, as pixel pilots on your phone

Ground Control puts the Claude Code sessions running on your Mac onto your phone. Each one becomes a pixel pilot on a street. Lime is working, grey is resting, coral means it is stopped and waiting on you. Tap one to read what it is doing and send orders that land in the real terminal

The challenge

Agents work for twenty minutes and then quietly need you

The failure mode of running several coding agents is not that they break. It is that one of them finishes, asks a question, and then sits there while you are in another room. You end up tethered to a laptop watching terminals, which is exactly the work you were trying to hand off.

What I did

Make status something you can read from across the room

Status is color and motion before it is text. A pilot that is working walks; one that needs you turns coral and stops. You can read the state of six sessions in the time it takes to unlock a phone, and only then do you tap in to read the actual conversation. Pairing is a QR code the Mac prints, and the key never leaves those two devices: the relay in the middle moves sealed bytes it cannot open and keeps none of them.

It is free, it costs me nothing per user, and it installs with one command. That was deliberate. A tool you use while walking away from your desk should not ask for an account before it has earned one.

Outcomes

Your agents keep moving when you walk away from the desk

  • Every Claude Code session on the Mac becomes a pixel pilot on the phone, with its state readable as color and motion.
  • Tap a pilot to read the live conversation and send instructions that land in the real terminal.
  • Setup is one command and a QR scan: npx @clastres/groundcontrol. No account.
  • End to end encrypted. The relay moves sealed bytes it cannot read and stores nothing.
